Our Story

Swells Sourdough bakery is a Southern California bakery focused on providing the highest quality ingredients, sourcing local produce and ancient grains to serve our community with old world bread, pastries and treats that don’t harm them. Being close to the coast, we want to be conscious of our environment and also give back to the coast. We surf here, watch the sunsets and appreciate the beauty of the nature around us. We want our brand to embody that vibe and the San Diego coastal community around us.

Our roots led us down this culinary path. Pamela is a trained chef whose Mother is also a trained chef from the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Erik's from the East Coast where Bagels were a Sunday staple for his family. Food and bread run deep through our genes and we put so much love into our food because we care about the health of the community with whom we're serving.
